It's kind of a late reminder, but today (January 10) is the first "Slam the Boards" date of 2011.  Make sure to visit your favorite Q&A site, hyperlocal site, etc. and show them what a librarian is capable of!  Tweet your answers, too (#slamtheboards).

By the way, yesterday's QuestionPoint User Group meeting on the potential of a national VR service/portal at ALA midwinter had an interesting side discussion about Enquire UK's approach to slamming.  They have a single organizational presence on Yahoo Answers UK, with Knowledge Partner status.  They moniter just a few categories (Literature and Reference?) and consistently pick up 25 questions per month.  This has led them to a 77% "best answer" rating--the highest of any Y!A knowlege partner!

Would it be worth looking into a similar collaborative group here in the US?  It think it'd be easy enough to set up.
