To Illinois AskAway librarians,

As a result of the Nov 13 install, some of you may suddenly see a "Practice" checkbox on your chat form.  This indicates that you are not linking to the correct chat form, and that all of your chat sessions are being counted as "practice" sessions - which means they aren't showing up in your statistics.  If patrons click the "practice" checkbox, this means that other librarians monitoring for you will see your patrons as "practice" patrons, and they may not pick them up.   So, please help by doing these 2 things:

1.  Check the link to your AskAway chat service, available from your library's web site.    If the Practice checkbox appears on your chat form, then you need to change the link to your present form to the correct form.  Last week I discovered that 24 IL public libraries had the incorrect chat form - I emailed each library with the link to the correct chat form.  Thanks to those of you that have changed your link!  However, I may have missed some, so if you have the incorrect form and you did not get an email from me, please send me an email [ mcglames at oclc.org<mailto:mcglames at oclc.org>] and I will send you the link to the correct chat form for your library.

2.  When staffing the chat service, please pick up any IL sessions marked as "practice", until such time as those with the bad form have linked to the proper form.
